FLUID RECOVERY IS IMPORTANT, WITHOUT GOING BEYOND THE LIMITS
After the race, it is natural to have lost a lot of fluids. For this reason, we must make up for it without haste. It would be good to have energy drinks and protein-rich drinks that help to heal the muscles as soon as we finish the race.
After the race, it is good to take a hot bath where it has healing properties. It should be lukewarm with emphasis on the legs and waist.
THE NIGHT AFTER THE FIGHT
In the afternoon after the race we need to eat, drink and bathe again to relax our body muscles. A good indication that the body is returning to normal is when the fluids leaving the body change colour, i. e. the bright yellow colour fades. It is important to listen to our body and relax, not to put obligations on ourselves and rest, because we deserve it.
Finally, an important reminder is a long sleep.
THE FOLLOWING DAYS
After the marathon race we have to find ways to recover our strength. Swimming and possibly low-intensity cycling are a good start, combined with massage and daily stretching.
